CubeHDRM – CubeSat Hold-Down and Release Mechanism

CubeHDRM is a compact and lightweight Hold-Down and Release Mechanism (HDRM) for CubeSats and small satellite platforms. Designed as a satellite subsystem for securing deployable components such as solar panels, antennas, and booms during launch and releasing them reliably once in LEO (Low Earth Orbit). Release is achieved through controlled disengagement of a preloaded nut, allowing stored energy from hinge or deployment springs to actuate the mechanism.
